Trulicity claim eligibility for injured consumers

What is Trulicity?

Trulicity is the brand name of dulaglutide. It’s a medication made by Eli Lilly which was given US Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) approval in September 2014. It has been one of the leading medications used to treat type II diabetes.

Once administered, Trulicity works by acting like glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), which is a hormone in the body that helps regulate blood sugar. Specifically, it stimulates insulin release, slows gastric emptying, and reduces glucagon secretion. It’s administered via autoinjectors weekly and comes in .75 mg, 1.5 mg, 3.0 mg, and 4.5 mg doses. Side effects include vomiting, nausea, and diarrhea. Studies have shown that higher doses mean a higher likelihood for these side effects to occur.

The potential injuries stem from the slow gastric emptying, which, according to the American College of Gastroenterology, results in gastroparesis, or stomach paralysis. This is a serious medical condition that doesn’t just obstruct the bowels; it can also cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, and more.

Trulicity side effects that can lead to claims

The manufacturer of Trulicity can be held accountable for their failure to highlight the serious medical conditions caused by the medication. If you or someone in your family is struggling with gastroparesis because of Trulicity, contact us, and we’ll review your case to see if you’re a potential claimant. First, consider these criteria:

  • No prior diagnosis of gastroparesis, bowel obstruction, or vision loss - NAION before taking Trulicity
  • Diagnosis of gastroparesis, bowel obstruction, or vision loss - NAION after at least one round of Trulicity

Compile your medical records that prove you underwent Trulicity treatment and that you’ve been diagnosed with gastroparesis and we will do the rest. Reach out to us with trust.

Trulicity settlements and litigation

Just this February, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania consolidated over 1,443 GLP-1-related lawsuits under litigation (MDL 3094). The plaintiffs of the lawsuits claim that medication like Trulicity causes problems like gastroparesis and that Eli Lilly could’ve done more to warn people of these risks.

As the cases are piling up, it’s becoming clear that Eli Lilly and other GLP-1 manufacturers failed to adequately warn consumers of the serious medical conditions they might develop.
