Wegovy is an injectable semaglutide used for weight management. It acts as a glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) receptor agonist when administered. Studies have shown that it can result in the following serious diseases:

• Gastroparesis - This is the partial or complete paralysis of the stomach. When this happens, gastric emptying is considerably slowed, causing nausea, vomiting, and more. It’s an untreatable disease.
• Vision loss - Wegovy usage may result in non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION). This is a result of poor blood flow to the optic nerves. NAION is painless, sudden, and untreatable.
• Bowel obstruction - Wegovy slows down food digestion. This can cause food or bezoar formations to block your intestines, leading to bloating, nausea, vomiting, and other health issues.

On top of this, Wegovy results in a handful of side effects that are listed on the label. Some of those are diarrhea, abdominal pain, and constipation.
