Is Trulicity the same as Ozempic?

No. Trulicity is not the same as Ozempic. While both are GLP-1 receptor agonists, the two drugs have different active ingredients. Trulicity contains dulaglutide, whereas Ozempic contains semaglutide. GLP-1s increase insulin secretion by the pancreatic cells, suppress appetite, and decrease gastric emptying. Both medications are used in managing type 2 diabetes and are not FDA-approved for weight loss; however, some doctors prescribe them as off-label weight loss medications.

If you were prescribed Trulicity by your physician and eventually developed severe side effects like stomach paralysis, bowel obstruction, or vision loss - NAION (non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy), you may be eligible to file a claim.
